Description: The partnership between Information Technology and The Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology was critical to achieve successful, integrated, enterprise e-learning at WSU. Our rapidly increasing WebCT enrollments and increasing demand by students for access to information technology resources and online help required a partnership to support e-learning. The integration of support of e-learning and the University strategic goals completes the successful integrated enterprise vision. We will outline our successful strategies and practices.

Abstract Text: The partnership between Information Technology and The Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology was critical to achieve successful, integrated, enterprise e-learning at WSU. Our rapidly increasing WebCT enrollments and increasing demand by students for access to information technology resources and online help required a partnership to support e-learning. The integration of support of e-learning and the University strategic goals completes the successful integrated enterprise vision.
Supporting an installation of WebCT campus edition that has grown from 4000 enrollments to over 15,000 enrollments over 4 years has been a challenge. Moving from a stand-alone instance to an enterprise level e-learning application required more pieces than just WebCT. Some of those pieces needed required the partnership between Information Technology and the Center For Teaching, Learning and Technology.
From authentication integration to customer support we have used successful strategies to integrate legacy systems and support the application at the enterprise level. We will outline those successful strategies and practices.
