Abstract Text:To enhance a postgraduate course of clinical psychology using WebCT at UNED (National University of Distance Education of Spain), we develop a system of bibliographic update of scientific and professional issues in clinical and health psychology. The main features of the system are: bibliography selection and summaries of the principal advances in the clinical topics; direct access to original selected bibliography; self-evaluating system; and free access to several reference databases. The software was specific development for this objectives, is an ASP application running in IIS, Windows 2000 Server, and using Oracle tables. The software application is access through WebCT platform, and it is running from 2001. Today three editions (2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004) were finished. We show data about this experience: academic and professional profile of the students, subject of interest, utility of the program, and a general evaluation of the process and integration in WebCT. The main results are: a total of 760 users, postgraduate (92%) and graduate (8%) of clinical psychology. A high consideration of the usefulness of the program and a special interest for traditional clinical topics: anxiety, depression, and health issues: eating disorders and addictive behaviours, and Internet delivered treatments. The integration with WebCT platform was positively perceived for the users. The program: “Puestaldía en Psicología Clínica y de la Salud” (Update in Clinical and Health Psychology), is a course of UNED (http://www.uned.es/puestaldia) and received grants and accreditation of Education and Health Government Spanish Agencies. This program is included in the course “Master en Terapia de Conducta” in WebCT (http://virtual0.uned.es/uva/listado.htm).
