Agricultural Education Students’ Perception of WebCT in Puerto Rico

Description:The purpose of the study was to determine student perception about the use of WebCT as an e-learning tool in selected agricultural education courses in the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez Campus. The study also sought to determine students’ familiarity with WebCT. In addition, the study assesses students’ skills and abilities using WebCT.

Abstract Text:This paper revised student perception about the use of WebCT as an e-learning tool in selected agricultural education courses in the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez Campus. Data for the study were collected with a survey instrument. The results showed that students have some experience using computers. The majority of the students used WebCT in one or two courses. In addition, students showed to learn the basic concepts of using WebCT easily and required little help from the instructors. However, the assignment tool was the most difficult to use. On the other hand, chat and discussion board were popular tools.
