Abstract Text: | A successful WebCT course design is not judged by rules and standards, but by its users – students. This session will present a research study on the overall evaluation of a WebCT course design from students’ perspectives. The evaluated areas include the use of WebCT tools, the incorporation of multimedia components, and overall course design related to students’ learning outcome. A survey research method was used to conduct the study. The target audiences in the study include both undergraduate and graduate students. The total number of participants of the survey is 27 students, of which 78% is undergraduates and 22% is graduates. The total participation rate is over 90%. The research data from the study provide very valuable and useful information for instructors and course designers on the improvement of the quality of WebCT courses. |
