Abstract Text:Eastern Connecticut State University has added WebCT capabilities for faculty use. Members of the Education Department faculty closely integrate the use of WebCT in existing coursework to extend student learning, encourage thoughtful and reflective practices, enhance out-of-class experiences, and provide resources to students in the graduate and undergraduate programs. This consciously determined exposure to web-based learning resources also encourages students to take available on-line courses when campus attendance is not feasible. Placing syllabi and other course materials in WebCT assists student to access information when they need it without being overwhelmed by information initially. Students also appreciate the immediate access to feedback on submitted assignments.
