Abstract Text: | Our college recently completed the integration of a four-point multicasting distance learning system. Which isa based on the TV conferencing system This learning system can record lectures in synchronous distance learning system. Soon after lecture is over, the lecture contents are recorded, converted and stored into the WebCT and then, integration and management of classes are done in the asynchronous distance learning system. This report focuses on the practical aspects of implementing the integration of 600 lecture classes in the latest WebCT Vista format. I also would like to report on the advantages and problems involved in the conversion and management of 600 lecture courses in WebCT Vista. This paper reports some problems on WebCT Vista concerning the UTF-8, a standard character code. Through the integration of our college system, we are able to or mesh the PowerPoint and video contents of a lecture using a Shift-JIS code system as an index for the contents produced by XML. Therefore we need to convert a code system, however. WebCT dose not provide a standard system interface. This paper discusses the processes programmed in an integrated system which can immediately convert all the Japanese character codes in all files contained in a directory including its subdirectory. I describe some important points of contents management in this new system, andmake a practical report about how a client-user adjusts to Java runtime environment. |
