Abstract Text: | Nihon University, as Japan's largest University, is home to colleges and courses of all different academic fields. The Center for Information Networking plays the part of broadcast center by sending multimedia information to each of college campuses using Nihon University's satellite communication system (NU-SAT) in 1998. Using satellite transmission and receiver antennas and the school's mobile satellite communication vehicle, the Center for Information Networking allows eight colleges and ten campuses ranging from the College of Engineering in Kouriyama, Fukushima Prefecture in the north, to as far south as the College of International Relations in Mishima, Sizuoka Prefecture to participate simultaneously in the distance learning class. Because it was difficult to take communication between a teacher and students by a remote class, I tried improvement of communication using WebCT. The teaching material presentation function of WebCT, a questionnaire and a discussion function were used. |
