Abstract Text:

This poster session demonstrates test management strategies that reliably measure learning outcomes and supported fairness in grading. Experiences with organizing and supervising proctored testing throughout the country and the world are shared. Student perceptions of supervised versus unsupervised examination are discussed. Protocols for test design including student grouping, question randomization, and timing are reviewed as well as strategies for management of the online examination process in unsupervised environments. In addition, the influence of delivery method on content mastery is evaluated by comparing standardized test results from students enrolled in a traditional classroom to those enrolled in 100% distributed learning class. Recommendations for maximizing the utility of limited teaching resources and classroom space for testing are provided.
