K-12: Simulation and Advanced Gaming Environments (SAGE) for Learning
Detailed Description:This session will provide an overview of the SAGE for Learning project, a four-year, $3 million, bilingual, research and development project funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). The partnership between the SAGE project and WebCT will be outlined. Several prototypes being developed by researchers in the SAGE project will then be shown, followed by a more in-depth demonstration of a Collaborative Online Media-rich Problem-based Simulation (called COMPS). This demonstration will illustrate how WebCT can be used to develop and deliver COMPS to students and professionals in the health care field, and a specific case for medical students will be shown.
