Abstract Text:Good teachers draw on a wealth of experience when they work with students. Many of us joined the ranks of teaching because we did well as students. We liked teaching and learning. Others came to the classroom from an industry background. But when faced with a full or blended learning course, many of us have a serious deficit to overcome – we've not BEEN online students.

This session will help novice and experienced online WebCT Teacher-Practitioners draw on their classroom and other teaching and learning experience to make the connections between their experience and the real lived experience of their WebCT students.

Using Interaction Theory, Dr. Rob Bernard a WebCT Certified Trainer, will draw attendees into a process that will help them be come better WebCT teachers and better WebCT Trainers. Specifically, it will ask attendees to consider putting their “shoes” of the students on their own “feet” (hence the title). What is it like to walk a mile in their sandals or moccasins or Nikes?
