H-5: Implementing Automated Monitoring of WebCT Vista for University of Houston
Detailed Description:To ensure that the 25,000 students in over 900 courses per semester encounter minimal service interruptions, the University of Houston and University of Houston-Victoria have implemented four automated monitoring stations at locations around Houston and Victoria to simulate the log in process every 15 minutes 24 hours a day. A central monitoring facility receives alarms and evaluates them, contacting system personnel if necessary. Benefits and challenges of implementation will be discussed.
