Detailed Description:This session will showcase how to create a course rich in multi-media that is both innovative and captivating. The demonstration will show a tutorial created by using Macromedia Authorware, Flash, and Captivate. The tutorial has embedded links to WebCT tools such as quizzes and discussion topics. Within the course content are tutorials that include interactive diagrams and equations. The presenter will show how to link two WebCT tools (Quizzes and Discussion Topics).

Abstract Text:

This session will showcase how to create a course rich in multi-media that is both innovative and captivating.  The demonstration will show a tutorial created by using Macromedia Authorware©, Flash© and Captivate©.  The tutorial has embedded links to WebCT tools such as quizzes and webboard discussion topics.  Within the course content are tutorials that include interactive diagrams and equations.  The presenter will show how to link two WebCT tools (Quizzes and Discussion Topics). Using a demo WebCT course the presenter will give an overview of how to create a course that includes an interactive tutorial.  Then the presenter will explain how to create a tutorial importing flash and adding links to two WebCT tools (Quizzes and Discussion Topics).  The presenter will show the audience how to create the tutorial by using the overhead; projecting images from their laptop.  The presenter will also show where to attain the links for tools in WebCT and how to place them inside the tutorial using Macromedia Authorware©. The objectives and outcomes for the course are as follows. Upon completion of this showcase the user will have viewed how to:

-Create an interactive tutorial.

-Embed a link for a WebCT Quiz within the tutorial. The objectives of this showcase are to:

-Create an interactive tutorial.

-Demonstrate the use of rich multi-media using Macromedia Authorware. The presenter will give the audience a pamphlet/guide with instructions and a CBT CD to follow along with the presentation.  The pamphlet will include a link to a tutorial that the audience can access after they leave the session.  The CBT can be used to train other employees or as a refresher once they return to their place of business.
