Overview:

Why Develop A Boot Camp?

WebCT CE usage at The University of Akron continues to grow. As more and more faculty/staff adopt WebCT, we have identified a need to provide structured training and support. The intensive WebCT Boot Camp was designed as an alternative to the traditional training schedule of multiple sessions at varying times throughout the semester. This week-long program provides the novice and experienced course designer with the strategies and tools necessary to develop quality online instructional materials. These materials may vary from Word documents to non-print media (video and audio). The sessions cover the following:

Getting Started with WebCT and utilization of course templates which includes but not limited to: Creating and Loading Basic Content; Utilization and Evaluation of Communication Tools; Faculty Course Management; Utilization of Evaluation Tools; Utilization of Interactive Student Components – Homepages, Student Presentations, Assignments; and, Creating and Loading Non-Print Media – Copyright Issues, Media Formats (least common denominator)
