B-12: Using WebCT to Deliver Web-based Accreditation Compliance Reports
Detailed Description:More and more accrediting bodies are requiring web-based delivery of evidence documenting compliance to established criteria. Creating the technical structure to do this effectively can overburden colleges’information technology departments with programming and resource needs. Tri-County Technical College has found that WebCT is an excellent tool for documenting compliance and requires limited support from IT to upload, design, and easily display an institution’s proof of compliance to an accrediting association.
Presentation Format:Showcase
Topic:Measuring outcomes: Student achievement and course success
Target Audience:Academic Technology Directors, Faculty and Other Instructors, Institutional Research and Assessment Staff, K-12 Educational Staff, Senior Administrators, System Administrators
Appropriate Audience Level:Beginning or new users of WebCT, Experienced WebCT users
Abstract Text:A small group of employees at Tri-County Technical College set off on the adventure of preparing a web-based Compliance Certification Report as part of the College's reaffirmation process for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. This presentation by two members of the group will showcase the innovative approach they took to use a WebCT course as the tool for creating and displaying the proof of compliance. Participants will discover how and why the decision was made to use WebCT, get documentation of the process that was developed to take full advantage of WebCT tools, particularly the glossary, and get a bird's eye view of the final product.
