Detailed Description: | LC-State was the first campus to go live using Datatel to push course and student information into WebCT. The panel will share views of the changes in procedures brought about from three perspectives: the Instructional Design Lead, the head of Distance Learning, and that of an experienced WebCT instructor. The discussion will also focus on shifts in best practices as seen from these perspectives. Time will be set aside for Q&A. | ||

Abstract Text: | The integration of Datatel and WebCT 4 CE requires true team effort and
cooperation. It can bring to a head any conflicts that might exist in the campus
community between administrative and academic interests. In addition, the
integration effort requires technical support from both software providers.
LC-State's experience with this integration was a largely positive one from the perspective of the support staff for the various campus technologies involved. However, the impact on academics and student use of the systems is still being assess and analyzed. A WebCT administrator, Distance Learning Director, and faculty member will share from their perspectives regarding the following topics:
