Detailed Description:"Anytime, Anywhere" is a marketing phrase that may increase enrollment, but eliminates one critical online learning element - the synchronous element. Synchronous components add a unique dimension to the online learning environment. They provide educators with an additional metric to evaluate student performance. Online educators are encouraged to consider utilizing synchronous elements in their courses. Only then will they be able to judge whether this pedagogical construct is an appropriate one for their course(s).
