Abstract Text:As WebCT evolved at UTPA, it became more and more popular among students and faculty. Today, WebCT is a mission critical application at UTPA. Because of that, disaster recovery planning and procedures had to be in place and ready to be implemented whenever they are needed. This presentation provides an economical way to design disaster recovery procedures using existing resources at this university. This solution offers a great alternative to mid-sized universities that have experienced budget cuts and are still required to support a growing student population using WebCT. The presentation will provide relevant background information that will help to understand the current scenario and become conscious of how the disaster recovery solution was planned and ready to be implemented. This 30 to 35 minute presentation will contain animations and graphics to illustrate the details of the existing setup of the disaster recovery solution. . An additional 10 to 15 minutes will be used for a brief Q&A session.
