Abstract Text:The implementation of WebCT Vista at the University of Alberta has enabled us to extend and enhance student services, and maximize our investment on a truly enterprise-wide scale. This session will feature some of the ways WebCT Vista is being used to go beyond traditional course delivery. Campus-wide grade book management, library integration, placement testing and e-recruitment are some of the initiatives currently underway at the University of Alberta with the adoption of WebCT Vista. While being able to provide extended services to students through a single, familiar interface is one important goal, we are currently faced with the problem of striving to enhance services while working under fiscal and staff resource constraints. In this presentation, the considerations, opportunities and realities of using WebCT Vista to implement institutional goals will be addressed.
