Presentation Format:Panel

Target Audience:Course Designers, Faculty and Other Instructors, E-learning Managers
Appropriate Audience Level:Beginning or new users of WebCT, Experienced WebCT users
Abstract Text:Academic and support staff designing, developing and delivering e-learning content, resources and activities draw on a diverse range of sources of inspiration and support: staff development / training, learning design teams, institutional course development, personal and peer experiences, approval and evaluation processes, local and external resource repositories etc. These sources of inspiration and support often develop in isolation, making coordination or integration on an institutional basis challenging. This session will describe these social and technical challenges and will identify potential benefits of a more co-ordinated approach, drawing on the experiences of U Ulster, CSU Chico and the WebCT Certified Trainer program. It will further report on the potential to leverage WebCT functionality and other fora to provide a support environment that inspires Faculty and assists them to successfully utilize best practice in their e-learning activities. Presentations of University of Ulster, CSU Chico and WebCT Certified Trainer Program perspectives will be followed by an opportunity for questions to be asked and experiences to be shared.
