F-11: Supporting All University Courses in WebCT

Detailed Description:In the Summer of 2003 the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) made a bold step by creating a WebCT course shell for all academic courses and sections offered by the University. This has exposed both strengths and weaknesses in the campus WebCT support system. This session will be an interactive presentation of facts, theories, and possibilities to stimulate the audience into an exchange of experiences and suggestions regarding effective WebCT support models.

Abstract Text:In the Summer of 2003 the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) made a bold step by creating a WebCT course shell for all academic courses and sections offered by the University. This has exposed both strengths and weaknesses in the campus WebCT support system. This paper will reveal the theories behind the implementation model designed and the modifications that have been made to improve the implementation. In addition, this paper will define the roles and responsibilities of UNLV’s WebCT support team members.
