F-13: The Effects of Web-Enhanced Instruction on Learning Outcomes & Student Satisfaction

Detailed Description:The purpose of this pilot study will be to evaluate the effectiveness of a web-enhanced course compared to a traditional offering of a Contemporary Issues in Nursing course. WebCT will be utilized in the web-enhanced section. Learning outcomes and satisfaction with the course will be compared, and results of the study will be presented.

Abstract Text:Web-enhanced courses are becoming increasingly popular as a means of providing rich learning experiences and greater flexibility in achieving course outcomes. One means for providing web-enhanced experiences is by using WebCT. This research study will evaluate the effectiveness of a web-enhanced course using WebCT on learning outcomes and satisfaction with a Contemporary Issues in Nursing course. Students enrolled in two sections of the course, traditional and web-enhanced, will be evaluated on select course assignments and on satisfaction with the course. Research results and implications will be presented.
