Detailed Description: | Come learn about the University of Western Ontario’s experiences with decentralized administration and associated faculty support efforts. Presenters will provide an overview of the learning context hierarchy that is created through UWO’s batch integration with the PeopleSoft SIS. Presenters will discuss tools that have been developed using the PowerLinks Kit to integrate with a department’s SIS and enable a customized course registration process. Group administrators will also share their experiences with branding, faculty support, and section/template management. | ||

Abstract Text: | This session will discuss experiences with decentralized administration and associated faculty support efforts at the University of Western Ontario. Discussions will include a review of the learning context hierarchy that is created through our batch integration with the PeopleSoft SIS. We will discuss tools that have been developed using the PowerLinks SDK to integrate with a department's SIS that manages a customized course registration process. Using WebCT as a means to communicate with prospective students will also be covered. Group administrators will share their experiences using WebCT within their faculty / departments: branding, faculty support, and section/template management. The Writing Program at Western will discuss their experiences with WebCT's content sharing for their grammar learning modules. | ||
