Detailed Description:In most forms of testing, there are unfortunately students who rely on cheating to find answers. Dishonesty during assessment can be even more prevalent in an online environment. This session examines common digital cheating schemes and ways to minimize cheating online. Come see a demonstration of how Marshall University is using the PowerLink for Respondus LockDown Browser, as well as other effective strategies, to create a secure testing environment in WebCT Campus Edition and WebCT Vista.

Abstract Text:This session examines the ways that students may attempt to cheat on online assessments and the ways to minimize it. An overview of the common methods of digital cheating will be given. This will be followed by a demonstration of the PowerLink for Respondus LockDown Browser, which provides a secure testing environment in WebCT CE 6 and Vista. A list of additional methods to minimize cheating in WebCT CE or Vista will also be provided. Plenty of “take aways” from this session!
