Abstract Text:Panel members will share what worked and what didn't work preparing the campus for a large-scale upgrade. Brown University is moving to CE6 on Linux/Oracle in a phased implementation. Phase 1 began in January 2006 with 15 courses/475 students using the new version and another 10 faculty using it to develop Fall 2006 courses. Phase 2 has 25 summer courses using CE6. We hope to move the entire campus to CE6 in Fall 2006.California State University, Chico began its spring 2006 pilot with 8 class sections and 250 students on a single-node Vista 4.0 installation and a summer 2006 pilot is planned for our clustered production platform. We expect to have up to 50% of WebCT class sections in Vista Fall 2006, with all WebCT sections (1300+) in Vista Spring 2007. Southern Illinois University Carbondale is in the planning stages of a migration to from CE4 to CE6 on Solaris/Oracle. The current implementation of CE4 is standalone with 1400 courses and over 15000 student accounts. With the implementation of CE6 these system will be integrated. We anticipate rolling out a pilot project for fall of 2006 and going live in the fall of 2007. University of San Diego began planning for a migration to CE6 on Linux/Oracle in Spring 2005. USD has a WebCT Advisory Committee open to all WebCT users and, at the Spring meeting, the group established a general time line for migrating to CE6. In spite of some slight slipping in the timeline, USD still anticipates migrating existing WebCT users by the start of summer 2006. Washington State University started a production pilot in January 2006 using CE6 in Windows/SQL 2005 with 5 pilot courses and 700 student enrollments. The entire campus will move to CE6 in Fall 2006.
