Abstract Text:In the fall of 2005 Capella University launched a project to harvest the data collected in Vista to migrate into our data warehouse. Capella set out to collect and summarize data relating to a learner's presence in the course room, learner's participation with other learners, learner's use of the Vista tools made available to them, and the learners use of course content. Toward that end we started with the base data collected in Vista on transactions involving learners, content, and tools. Data collected over multiple quarters, courses, and sections were rolled up into interactive reports. The data is being used to inform our course development process. This showcase will cover the details of that project, as well as, examples of how Capella is using these metrics to better understand the relationship between the tools and content of our courses and learner satisfaction, retention and performance.
