E-11: Middleware Applications to Extend WebCT Vista Functionality
Detailed Description:This session will discuss middleware applications that have been created to extend WebCT Vista to meet campus needs and practices. We will focus specifically on the middleware needed to interact with institutional SIS and support section-level backup strategies. Come meet other system administrators, discuss systems issues, and foster a community of practice for system administrators in this interactive session.

Abstract Text:This roundtable will discuss middleware applications created to extend Vista functionalities to meet campus needs and practices. The conversation will focus specifically on middleware to interact with institutional SIS and support section level backup strategies. Each participant will be given time to present examples and lessons learned of middleware development and deployment at their institution. Audience participation in the discussion will be encouraged. This roundtable will also serve as an opportunity for networking with other system administrators at all levels, to meet and discuss systems issues with peers, and to enhance a sysadmin community of practice.
