Abstract Text:SMUVista is Singapore Managemnet University's main e-learning platform. WebCT Vista was to replace a locally built e-learning system. In order to match the functionalities of the previous e-learning system, many customization and integration solutions were planned and delivered in the first six months of the platform implementation. They include: · Single Sign-on (SSO) · SIS Integration · Final Grade Weighting Tool · Result Submission Tool

It was an exciting process to manage the activities for the different solutions. There were multi-track activities involving planning, development, application and data interfaces testing. Coordination for user training was also a key success factor as we need to help users to perceive the multiple solutions as one.

This sharing session covers the considerations required in deciding the types of customization solutions to built and the work required in implementing, integrating and supporting a suite of customized solutions. There will be discussion of SMU's experience, lessons learnt and the potential improvements for future customization works.
