Abstract Text:Vista implementation in the UNC system began with one school and is now a multi-institutional effort. North Carolina State University was the first school within the system to adopt WebCT Vista. As NCSU's Vista experience has grown, other schools within the UNC system have begun to partner with NCSU to provide Vista to their campuses. The UNC system's shared Vista effort is a "grassroots" endeavor; UNC institutions have come together with UNC General Administration to form a multi-institutional Vista installation. This panel discussion will focus on the lessons learned from these partnerships and plans for moving forward. The presentation will include some background information on how WebCT Vista was implemented at North Carolina State University and the support structures in place. As the Vista effort has grown beyond NCSU, existing support structures have been adapted for use in the UNC system. Communication has been a key component in successful Vista deployment to multiple institutions. The panel will discuss perspectives on benefits and costs of the shared effort from the individual institution and UNC General Administration levels.
