Abstract Text:WebCT offers a very flexible learning environment when it comes to adding other web technologies to enhance student learning. During this session participants will be shown several course proven examples of how the University of Northern Iowa is leveraging these technologies to enhance online instruction.

Topics include how to add streaming video and audio to content pages as well as in online assessments in WebCT. Participants will learn how to add RSS news feeds or blog feeds to content pages in WebCT. Participants will see a tool that allows you to add HTML based PowerPoint that doesn't have all of the browser issues when using the “save as web page” feature in PowerPoint. And lastly, participants will learn how to use a tool that will add, save, rate, post links to WebCT content pages automatically that are important to your course. This free tool also creates an archived version of the page that will continue to be available to use in a course if the links change or the page disappears. For each one of these technologies, participants will be shown actual “in course” examples as well as links to resources so they can implement them into their courses.

At the end of the workshop, participants will be encouraged to share other web technologies that they have used effectively in WebCT.
