| Detailed Description: | WebCT Vista was integrated with Northern Arizona University’s LDAP server for people data and PeopleSoft 8.0 for enrollment and course management data. | Abstract Text: | In the Spring of 2005, Northern Arizona University (NAU) decided to upgrade from WebCT Campus Edition 4.1 to Vista. In Fall 2005, NAU ran a pilot with almost 40 new and migrated sections being taught on Vista 3, complete with PeopleSoft and LDAP integration. In Spring 2006 we entered phase II of our deployment with 500 sections, over 9,000 enrollments with more then 5,000 individual students using our new Vista 4 server. Our next phase, slated for Fall 2006, will provide a Vista 4 shell for every NAU section, providing 6,000 sections serving 25,000 students. During this process we have learned how PeopleSoft and LDAP integration, using the IMS Global standard, can be implemented in Vista. We have learned how to map a learning context from our Student Information System to Vista and we have developed automated processes on PeopleSoft and LDAP to provide update feeds to Vista every two hours. | ||
