Abstract Text:The University System of Georgia's (USG) eCore®—short for electronic core curriculum—allows students the opportunity to complete their first two years (the “core” curriculum) of their collegiate careers in an online environment. A particularly challenging task was the development of two intermediate Spanish courses. Through the use of several innovative technologies including Horizon Wimba, iMod's and Quia the USG is now offering these asynchronous online courses.
