Detailed Description:This session will illustrate the design tools, delivery tools, and WebCT Vista learning tools that can be used by librarians and students for more efficient online library instruction and learning. See different types of library learning modules in WebCT Vista and how they can be customized to target specific course goals, research topics, and information needs.

Abstract Text:The project has as main goals to demonstrate what design and delivery tools can be employed by librarians and what learning tools can be used by students to ensure efficient online library instruction and learning. Secondarily, the project describes how WebCT Vista supports the seven principles of good practice in undergraduate education. The project illustrates the usage of specific Vista tools as learning modules, assignments, discussions, chat rooms, media library and other online communication tools as weblogs for a First Year Experience library course. The project also describes different types of library learning modules in WebCT Vista, as core and course-specific library learning modules, and how library modules can be customized to target specific course goals, research topics, and information needs.
